You have a special event coming up. You want it to be low-key with your closest friends and family in a place that’s comfortable for you, but still something unique without breaking the bank. Well Brushes & Booze has got you covered!
We offer affordable private painting classes that can be hosted in the comfort of your own home or public space. There are two types of Packages you can choose from; Picnic & Paint and Painting Class, that are hassle-free and suitable for any event including birthdays, hens, baby showers and team building exercises.
Sessions are hosted by artist, Shannon MacDonald, teaching you basic painting techniques that you can continue to use in your painting journey. After following the provided step-by-step instructions, or letting your inner creativity run wild, by the end of the session,you will find yourself with your very own Masterpiece. No artistic experience is required!
To make your event even more special, we offer a variety of add-ons including Grazing Boards from our caterer S&O Grazing, professional photography to capture your special day and free custom subjects to reflect you.
Picnic & Paint Package
- 3 hour step-by-step tutorial by artist, Shannon MacDonald
- All art materials provided: Canvases, easels, paint, palettes, brushes, water jars, aprons
- Suitable for 6-12 people
- Subject can be selected from our Artworks or custom designed
- Boho picnic set up including: Low tables, pillows, jute rugs, table cloth and runner, floral centerpieces and candles
- Wireless Bluetooth speaker suitable for Apple and Android
- Catering and professional photography can be added at an additional cost. Drinks are BYO.

Painting Class Package

I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday this weekend with a surprise Brushes and Booze session. Without exaggeration, easily one of the best birthday presents I’ve ever gotten!! Shannon was wonderful – engaging, helpful and professional. She maintained a warm, inviting atmosphere and paced the class so that we had ample time to play with each step, but kept progressing throughout the session. I’ve done other casual painting classes and of the canvases I’ve taken home, my B&B kookaburra is the only one I plan to actually display. I had the best morning that I have had in a long time at Shannon’s amazing class. It was so easy and fun! We painted a bookshelf with books and pot plants on it and I’m so happy with how mine came out, I went in with zero painting talent and now I’m so chuffed at my fancy little canvas. Shannon was so friendly and supportive, gave so much helpful and encouraging feedback. She is a fantastic teacher. Honestly anyone could walk into one of these sessions and and walk out so happy and proud of their little masterpiece. We had coffee and cake instead of booze because it was a morning session at a café, and it made the whole event sooo much better. Playing with paint and colours and drinking coffee with friends all around you, everyone laughing and having fun, what more could you want?! I can’t wait to do it again and can’t wait to tell my family about it because I reckon every one of them would love to come along. Thanks so much Shannon!

Hello! My name is Shannon MacDonald and I’m the teacher and owner of Brushes & Booze. I’m a self-taught realistic portrait, landscape and still life artist and am here to guide you through your chosen subject, teaching you techniques I use everyday that can be carried on in your artistic journey.
